Think back to your own “no school” days… hanging out with friends, listening to music, playing outside, and sleeping in! Thanks to several corporate and community groups our days off of school are filled with some great activities! Philadelphia Insurance employees recently gave their time to bring some organization to our clothing closet AND enjoy some Halloween crafts & kickball with our kids. Teachers from Leigh’s School of Dance had a great time helping our kids work on some new hip hop moves. PepsiCo employees offered our girls some pampering while the boys burned off energy in the gym. JoCo Med Act Services tried their hand at dodge ball, guided our kids through a team building expercise with spaghetti noodles and allowed the kids to learn about the equipment needed to assist community members in need.
Each of these valuable employees and corporate representatives provide a chance for our kids to feel supported and loved by healthy adults, practice coping skills and most importantly be a kid on a day with no school. Volunteers see them for more than just their diagnosis, their needs, or their past and we are so thankful to all our volunteers for caring for and believing in our kids!
