KidsTLC is Impressive!

KidsTLC, recognized in the top 1% of all US non-profits by Charity Navigator*, America’s largest independent evaluator of charities, transforms thousands of children’s lives each year through innovative and successful psychiatric treatment, outpatient behavioral health, autism and parent support programs.

*Charity Navigator’s highest 4-star rating indicates that KidsTLC adheres to sector best practices and executes its mission in a financially efficient way. Only 1% of the charities evaluated by Charity Navigator have received at least 9 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that KidsTLC outperforms most other charities in America and demonstrates its trustworthiness to the public.

It's National Police Week and a couple of Olathe Police Department's finest deserve a big KidsTLC shoutout! "Officer C" is a regular on our campus for about 5 years, as the Olathe Public Schools' SRO at Claire Therapeutic Learning Center, and Mike Butaud graciously serves on our Board of Directors! Their positive interactions with our kids provide a very hope-filled perspective of law enforcement! Thanks to all first-responders who help keep our campus and community safe! #TransformingLives #PlaygroundAficionado

What does it mean for us to receive this grant funding? The Opus Group's generous support allows The Trellis Center at KidsTLC to truly transform the lives of children seeking treatment related to autism spectrum disorders. Utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), with supplies and materials from this grant, we'll be able to: prepare clients for successful transitions to educational environments; promote age-appropriate play skills; and teach skills related to communication, gross and fine motor, and daily living activities.

Our founding organization, JCYM Johnson County Young Matrons, continues to give from the heart! KidsTLC's Kelsey Gertsema received a scholarship from JCYM to continue her education. She plans to guide her master's level program around family structure and interaction, child development, and abuse and neglect in children. Kelsey hopes to continue to grow KidsTLC's Thriving Families program as well as create new programs that will adapt to the needs of the community. Congrats, Kelsey and thanks to JCYM for continuing to believe in our staff and our mission!
