KidsTLC is Impressive!

In 2019, KidsTLC became the very first Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Practice and Parenting (DDP)-certified residential treatment facility in the world. DDP is an internationally known approach to care that is based on relationships, attachment and connection. DDP helps KidsTLC understand, support and heal our children and families.

DDP certification for an organization requires all leadership staff to receive extensive training in relating with traumatized children—and all people—in a manner that generates safety and strength-based learning about self and others. DDP has truly become the golden fiber that weaves its way throughout all relationships on our campus!

We have all the #FridayFeels! With graduations feeling everything but normal, KidsTLC was able to shine a little brightness on a ceremony for one high school senior in our residential community! Can you imagine all of the challenges that needed to be conquered for this to happen? Studying to finish classwork remotely. Living away from family and friends. Progressing through therapy to overcome things that may include past trauma, anxiety, intense anger and so much more!

Her teachers from the Olathe Public Schools Claire Therapeutic Learning Center joined via Zoom Video Communications, while care providers and peers surrounded her with kindness and support. Her therapists had the distinct honor of presenting her diploma, then everyone enjoyed the celebratory cake!

Congratulations to our special graduate and thanks to everyone who helped make this possible! #Graduation #Teachers #TransformingLives

We are so excited to have Ken Bramble as a part of our Champion Campaign for #mentalhealthawareness! Ken is a benefits consultant with HUB International, and is passionate about mental health awareness and financial wellness. Ken is an avid runner, and will be running 50 MILES in his effort to raise funds to support KidsTLC. Here's his WHY:

"You see, when it all becomes too much and I get hit with a bout of anxiety, I am unable to do one of the things I love the most, run. My legs feel weak, my stomach is nauseous, and going for a run is the last thing on my mind. I only share that to bring awareness that stress, anxiety and mental health challenges also impact one's physical well being. Please join me in supporting this wonderful organization and lowering the stigma around these challenges that many Americans face."

Community partners are ready to #Renew #Energize and #Donate at Keller Williams Realty, Diamond Partners, Inc.! Once again, they've generously chosen to support KidsTLC on their national RED Day, and they're making the most of the current situation. Instead of coming to our campus for a service project, they're collecting needed items for our kids! You're welcome to join their effort and commitment to making a difference in our community! #grateful
