Most medical students are nose deep in books, terms, and tests but KidsTLC is grateful to the Kansas City University of Medicine & Biosciences for making time for more. KCUMB Pediatrics Club partners with KidsTLC to provide fun activities and great social interactions on our campus. As most of these students will be serving kids in the future, what a great way for them to spend a Saturday morning. Last weekend, Pediatrics Club board members put down the books, stepped away from the stress of upcoming exams and came to play with our kids. What an example for our kids to have 2nd year medical students on our campus! Despite the heat, we all enjoyed volleyball, badminton, Velcro ball, and a football toss. Our green space was full of conversation, laughter, and eventually worn out kids and volunteers. We ended our morning by running through a water spray – not a bad day away from both the books and the challenges our kids face every day.
