“Do What you can, With what you have, Where you are!” – Theodore Roosevelt (played by Robin Williams in Night at the Museum)

This week we lost a legendary inspiration for laughter and joy, who was quietly struggling with the opposite feelings inside.  This exterior expression vs interior emotion is something many of our kids face every day, often battling their own self-worth.  Sometimes stepping away from ourselves and giving to others, provides a platform to see our own worth and the impact it has on others. Each day, our kids are recipients of community services and because of the wonderful partnership with Johnson County Development Support Services (JCDS) they are also the provider of community service to others. Our time together has included games, crafts, cooking and FUN!  Our kids share time, connection and comradery with adults receiving services through JCDS.   What a great way for our kids to “Do what they can, with what they have, where they are…”
