First National Bank Announces Community Development Grants
OMAHA, Neb. May 7, 2018. – First National Bank has awarded a total of $904,000 in community
development grants to 47 organizations in Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Illinois, South Dakota and Texas,
announced Alec Gorynski, Vice President, Community Development and Corporate Philanthropy. The grants
support programs focused on increasing access to stable housing, revitalizing neighborhoods and building
strong local economies.

“At First National Bank, we firmly believe that we have the ability and a responsibility to help make our
communities stronger,” said Gorynski. “That’s why our Community Development Grant Program directs our
investments with proven community partners who are working to create positive outcomes where need is
greatest and results are best realized.”
In Kansas, First National Bank awarded $30,000 in community development grants to two organizations. A
grant for affordable housing programs will enable the bank’s community partner to build, rehabilitate or
finance 85 homes and provide 100 individuals with home ownership education and foreclosure prevention

  • $20,000 – KidsTLC (Olathe): secures and maintains permanent housing for families and their children
    who are experiencing homelessness or are at-risk for becoming homeless.

A grant supporting economic development initiatives will create or retain 621 jobs and assist more than 643
small businesses in Kansas:

  •  $10,000 – Kansas Small Business Development Center at Johnson County Community College
    (Overland Park): provides tools and resources to help entrepreneurs and small business owners start
    and expand their businesses.

First National Bank expects to announce additional community development grants in the fourth quarter of
this year that will support initiatives that strengthen the workforce. In 2017, the bank awarded a total of
$1.8 million in community development grants to 104 organizations across its seven-state service area. To
