KidsTLC’s Thriving Communities provides services, resources and experiences that benefit our clients, staff and programs. These community partnerships make possible once in a lifetime experiences for kids, as well as support the everyday therapeutic work that happens with families on KidsTLC’s campus. Whether a single volunteer, a large corporation or another non-profit agency, partnership has always been key to providing the most beneficial therapeutic experience for the children and families we serve.
Parent and Family Services
CARES Parent Program
CARES – Caregiving Attitudes Reinforced by Education and Support. Many parents and caregivers of youth admitted to KidsTLC’s PRTF have experienced high levels of stress related to parenting and educating children who have experienced early childhood complex trauma.
The CARES program is designed to offer education and support to caregivers and provide networking and support systems through shared peer partnerships.
With support from experienced parent liaisons and KidsTLC professionals, families are given opportunities to seek guidance, discuss personal experiences, share parenting approaches, and benefit from materials presented each week.
Thrive Planned Respite
We are excited to introduce Thrive, our planned respite program designed with the entire family’s wellbeing in mind. Visits are coordinated with referrals from community health partners.
Thrive is more than a program; it is a preventative support system designed to strengthen family resilience. It strives to reduce acute hospitalizations, placement disruptions and caregiver burnout while increasing family feelings of success and hope. Thrive offers goal-oriented breaks for all family members, allowing time to recharge and address challenges more effectively. Learn more about Thrive here!
Family Support Specialists
KidsTLC’s Family Support Specialists enrich the caregiver experience for families and community partners. They provide advocacy, community connections and ongoing support for families with children receiving services on our campus. This role begins with families at intake, continues into successful progression back into the community and “thrives” into next chapters for children and families.
Resources can include services offered by KidsTLC such as individual therapy, medication management, intensive outpatient program (IOP) and planned respite, as well as services provided by other community agencies. This role continues with families to provide support during PRTF treatment, up to six months post discharge (including home visits), resource navigation, and other coordination of care supports and advocacy.
