Dan started at KidsTLC in 2013 as a therapist on the Willow community in our Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility. After serving there for three years, he made the transition into the world of continuous quality improvement, where he works to provide benchmark data for our programs and grant requests, as well as coordinate with outside licensing and accrediting agencies. He has also worked very closely in the implementation of our electronic health record. In 2022, Dan began working as the Director Lotus Programming at KidsTLC, which includes both Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Services. Dan holds a BFA in Music Education/Music Therapy from the University of Kansas, and a MS from Friends University in Family Therapy. He enjoys painting, woodworking, cheering on the Chiefs, Royals, and Jayhawks, helping out on the farm, and spending time in the woods.
Amanda Altenhofen, MS, LFMT

Amanda is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Kansas and has a passion for serving teens, adults, and families to build strong relationships and bright futures. Amanda graduated from the University of Kansas and Friends University. Amanda’s therapist journey began over 10 years ago when installing kitchen cabinets and realizing home is the heartbeat of family systems. Amanda has worked in a variety of industries, including construction, accounting, and caregiving. Amanda has a passion for working with families and teens. She tailors her approach to meet the unique needs of every client utilizing a variety of approaches including Contextual Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DDP, and various experiential therapies. Amanda’s hobbies include reading, yoga, and crocheting.
Kara Friedline, LCMFT

Kara is a licensed clinical marriage and family therapist and holds her Kansas Board Approved Supervisor license. She received her Master’s in Marriage and Family counseling from MidAmerica Nazarene University and has more than 20 years of experience serving children, adolescents, adults and families. Kara counts it as a privilege to work alongside clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, suffering, emotion, intimacy, narcissist trauma recovery and abuse, and relational losses. She is known for her compassionate therapeutic care for her clients while maintaining a loving willingness to speak important words of truth. She has the ability to help clients make sense of their situation and see the deeper aspects of why they are the way they are and why they do what they do. Kara enjoys coming alongside parents to help their children learn new ways to cope with anxiety, ADHD symptoms and develop emotional regulation skills. Kara enjoys being with her children and taking them camping, hiking, biking, reading lots of books to them and visiting the family farm.
Christine Fuhrman, LSCSW, LCSW

Christine has been with KidsTLC since 2007 and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her Master’s Degree in clinical social work from the University of Denver. She has been in the field for more than 15 years working with children, adolescents and families experiencing complex trauma and behavioral health issues in a variety of residential and community-based settings. Christine has also been responsible for the development of non-profit programs along with professional development of clinical staff. Her passion is supporting others through individual and family therapy. Christine is also experienced clinician in serving adolescents and young adults as well as their families. Additionally, she volunteers her time on the board of directors at Artists Helping the Homeless and Max’s Treehouse. She is incredibly passionate about serving others and promoting professional development throughout her work.
Carrie Hatch, LMFT

Carrie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who received her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Friends University, and she is currently perusing her PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy from Antioch University New England. Carrie has experience working with children, teens, and adults who have experienced complex traumas and attachment injuries. She specializes in anxiety, depression, mood disorders, PTSD, addiction, eating disorders and family therapy. Carrie views interpersonal relationships as powerful contributors to our overall mental health and recognizes the meaningful ways they affect us. Her way of being creates a space where people are safe to be their authentic self and to speak their truth.
Leslie Jolitz, LCPC, LPC, NCC
Outpatient Therapist
Leslie is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Kansas, a National Certified Counselor, and an LPC in Missouri and Mississippi. She received her Master’s and Education Specialist degrees in Counseling from Pittsburg State University. Leslie has worked with all ages in both clinical and school settings. Areas of counseling interest include behavior modification, social skills improvement and development, anxiety/ fears and stress management, life change and transitions, parenting skills and support, coping skills and personal growth as well as other mental health and social factors that challenge individuals and their families. Leslie often incorporates play and art in sessions as a way for children and adolescents to communicate and express themselves. With positive support from the therapeutic experience, Leslie believes people can become aware of and recognize their thoughts and behaviors, allowing growth and change to take place.
Alex Livers, LCSW
Outpatient Therapist
Alex is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who started at KidsTLC in 2017 as a therapist in the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). During her six years in IOP, Alex focused on group, individual and family therapy with adolescents. Alex has a passion for working with teens who have experienced complex trauma and giving them a space to discover their voice and self-identify. Currently, Alex runs one-hour-per week group-therapy sessions for adolescents ages 13-18 at the Lotus Clinics. The group typically covers overall topics such as communication and relationships, emotion regulation and self-identity/self-esteem, and lasts for 8 week sessions. Alex greatly enjoys creating a safe environment for young adults to feel seen and accepted, and know they are not alone.
Jason Marsh, LCPC

Jason is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Kansas. He has more than eight years of experience serving adults, children, and families in the Kansas City metro area. Jason graduated from Kansas State University with a BA in Anthropology and then continued his education at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he completed his MA in Counseling. Jason enjoys helping families become more cohesive and seeing all family members thrive in their roles in the family system. Jason uses a variety of therapeutic interventions including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Play Therapy and Family Systems Therapy.
Lia McLoughlin, LMSW

Lia is a Licensed Master’s Social Worker who graduated from Avila University with a Bachelor’s in Social Work. This is where she first heard about KidsTLC during a career fair and started working as a Youth Care Facilitator for more than two years. During this time, Lia received her Master’s in Social Work from St. Louis University focusing on attachment theory and trauma-informed care. Lia’s approach to therapy is deeply influenced by DDP, which emphasizes the importance of secure attachments and relational repair in healing developmental trauma. Lia’s empathic and nurturing approach creates a safe space for clients to explore and process feelings and life experiences.
Janeen Olmos, LCPC, LCAC, SATP
Outpatient Therapist
Janeen is a licensed clinical mental health counselor, licensed clinical addiction counselor and a Sex Addiction Therapy Provider. She received her Master’s in Counseling from MidAmerican Nazarene University. Her experience includes working with adolescents in KidsTLC’s residential and outpatient programs and with impaired physicians, nurses and other adult professionals in a short- and long-term therapeutic setting in Lawrence, Kansas. Janeen’s therapeutic experience includes working with complex trauma, addiction, attachment issues, personality disorders, depression, anxiety, stress management, suicidal ideation, conflict resolution and other similar issues. Janeen is a strong advocate for helping clients work through their trauma, fortify their identity and a sense of self-worth, build social skills, strengthen resilience, create boundaries and incorporate mindfulness and self-compassion into daily routines. Janeen has specialized training in EMDR, Brainspotting and DBT which are useful therapies to help clients heal trauma and many other mental health concerns.
Drew Ryan, LCPC

Drew Ryan graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene University with a Master of Arts in Counseling in 2011. Drew started working at KidsTLC in 2016 as a residential therapist until 2021 and now works as an outpatient clinician in KidsTLC’s Lotus Clinic. Drew specializes in working with kids, as well as their families, who have experienced trauma, abuse or neglect. Drew’s primary focus is specifically working with kids in foster and adoptive care who have experienced trauma, abuse or neglect by trusting adults who are meant to protect and provide care. Outside of helping people, Drew enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids and adventuring in the outdoors hiking, camping, backpacking and trail running.
Tara Strong, LCP, LCAC

Tara has been with KidsTLC siince 2013, she continues to practice as a contract telehealth therapist focusing on adolescent and adult issues, specializing in family and couples therapy. She has a certification in drug and alcohol treatment and has specialized training in treating and managing ADHD in both adolescents and adult lifespan. Tara has over 25 years of experience utilizing therapeutic interventions including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy. Tara enjoys spending time with family, outdoor activities, gardening, and helping other achieve their goals and become their best self.
Malique Taylor, LPC, PLPC

Malique holds a Master’s degree in Counseling with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy from MidAmerica Nazarene University, where he also earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology in 2019. While at MNU, Malique excelled both academically and athletically, playing three seasons of football. Since joining KidsTLC in 2019, he has made a meaningful impact through his work with children in various roles. Beyond the therapy room, Malique stays active by competing in Jiu-Jitsu, playing recreational soccer and coaching others to build structure and effectively manage stress. He specializes in working with couples, athletes, and individuals striving for balance and personal growth.
Hannah Rogg, LCMFT

Hannah knows that meaningful change begins with genuine connection and the foundation of trust. Her work is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and empowerment—offering a space where teenagers and their families feel deeply supported while also challenged. In her sessions, unhelpful patterns are identified, new skills are introduced and practiced, and individuals are encouraged as they move from feeling stuck toward experiencing growth and renewed confidence.
Hannah earned her undergraduate degree from Kansas State University before completing her Master of Science in Family Therapy at Friends University. Prior to her time at KidsTLC, she worked at a community agency where she provided outpatient therapy, facilitated groups, and developed and led psychoeducational presentations.
Hannah joined KidsTLC in 2020 as a therapist serving adolescents in the Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility. She later transitioned to the Lotus Clinic, where she continues to focus her work with teenagers and young adults. Her clinical expertise includes working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, attachment concerns, stress management, complex trauma, identity development, and low self-worth. Her approach integrates principles from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). She has received focused training in DDP, DBT, and IFS, and completed advanced perinatal mental health training through Postpartum Support International.
Outside of her clinical work, Hannah enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, traveling, trying new restaurants, and cheering on the Chiefs.”
