Program Overview
The C.A.R.E.S. program provides education and support for caregivers through peer partnerships and professional guidance from KidsTLC.
Each week, families can share experiences, explore parenting strategies, and access helpful materials. Caregivers also have the option to privately discuss emotional and behavioral concerns in a safe, confidential setting.
Values
Leadership – The C.A.R.E.S. group belongs to its participants. Caregivers partner with a trained facilitator to define group goals, model healthy relationships, and ensure consistent meetings.
Trust – Group members are assured confidentiality in a non-judgmental environment, within the limits of the law.
Shared Resources – Information about community resources that support healthy family development is available to all members.
Respect – Participants and facilitators honor each other’s needs, provide time for all voices to be heard, and respect cultural traditions and values.
Safety – Participants will collaborate to learn and practice physically and emotionally safe methods for relating to one another and parenting.
Accountability – Participants will invite one another to take ownership of the above-mentioned values and work together to create a safe environment for all.
