Street
Outreach Services is a mobile community-based unit providing psycho-educational
and social intervention services to homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth
ages12-21. Street Outreach workers will assist youth in finding
emergency shelter, long-term living arrangements, counseling, health care,
and other appropriate connections that may aid the youth in getting off
the streets.
Services
available to homeless, runaway & at-risk youth include:
* Emergency shelter
services (ages 12-18)
* Application assistance to metro area Transitional Living Programs and
Job Corp
* Referrals - Detailed descriptions of the programs and services available
in the community
* Educational guidance
* Referrals to GED programs
* University campus tours arranged through the college of choice
* Assistance with college applications
* Assistance with financial aid applications
* Employment assistance
* Job search techniques
* Assistance in filling out applications
* Interview etiquette
* Obtaining legal documents
* Birth Certificate
* Social Security card
* State issued I.D
Youth
must meet program requirements:
* Currently homeless
or at-risk of becoming homeless
* Age Requirements
- 12-18 – Emergency Shelter
- 12-21 – Community-based services
* Must actively participate in fulfilling individualized treatment plan

Mission:
SOS
provides safe refuge or healthy alternatives to youth who have runaway,
live on the streets, are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless, and
are subject to exploitation, neglect, or abuse.
Vision:
That all runaway and homeless youth will be empowered through education,
prevention, and transitional services to further develop self-sufficiency.
