September 30th turned out to be a warm, sunny and beautiful day for a ride on a motorcycle! Over 60 bike riders showed up to participate in TLC's first annual Kruisin for Kids poker run!
The event started at the Great Mall of the Great Plains in Olathe where riders registered and then enjoyed coffee and donuts courtesy of Starbucks Coffee and KC Pastry. 98.9 The Rock's Moose served as the official spokesperson and emcee for Kruisin for Kids and helped to kick off the ride at 10:00 am with a live radio broadcast. Then all 60 motorcycles lined up in formation and came together as one group to support abused and neglected children. It was an amazing sight! Riders then took off for a 75 mile bike ride through the scenic country roads of Gardner , Eudora, Tonganoxie and Bonner Springs stopping along the way at Embarq, Eudora High School and Bonner Springs Ford to play a hand of poker. The ride wrapped up back at the Great Mall where riders enjoyed lunch catered by Texas Roadhouse.
The day wrapped up with a silent auction of over 60 great items and a $500 cash prize to the winning poker hand and a $250 cash prize to the rider with the lowest hand.
This first annual event was a great success for TLC and raised over $19,000 to support TLC's programs helping abused and neglected children and youth! We want to extend a special thank you to our title sponsor KC Trends and to all the volunteers and riders who came out to support TLC!
ILL CONDUCT STUNT SHOW!!
Jumpin Jeff Schneider of ILL Conduct travels the United States putting on exciting shows for thousands of fans. He performed an amazing stunt show on his Harley Davidson XR 750 and Buell Blast Motorcycles at TLC's Kruisin for Kids event! The show also featured Aaron Cline, one of the top Buell Riders in the world. Spectators were quite impressed with this exciting show!
